I’ve never seen this outside of Streetfighter….. a crazy takedown defence? that turns into a takedown/powerslam. Something WWE would be proud to show on a PPV. The crowd shows minor surprise, followed by a relaxed un-impressed quitness. Maybe they all blinked while it happened? Maybe this kinda thing is common place over there? its deff. one of the craziest takedowns ive seen.

Note – the dummy in this scene is Jed Nuttal, one of the toughest lads at the gym Phuket Top Team. The quick and desperate yelp of “yeah yeah, yes” is because this submission comes on QUICK. Break it down and have a good look at it, also note the way Silviu explains why he does not triangle the leg over itself. Useful hint.

I dunno what to call it, how to describe it…. heck, after watching in 6 times i still dont know how to do it ! Pretzel anybody ? This kinda stuff is Sambo’s answer to the rubber guard, crack head control to gogo plata…. Gotta give full points for creativity !

I love seeing sambo used in a grappling/submission wrestling tournament! where better than NAGA, sambo VS wrestling VS catch VS pankration VS bjj VS what ever you got Here you see a great level of control and confidence and eventually a relatively simple but very, very neat NECK CRANK for the submission.
